Concert Series – “The Greatest Love Songs… and Why!”

Since the beginning of musical history, composers and songwriters have been writing songs and music on the subject of love. In their concert series: “The Greatest Love Songs and Why” the duo Heartstrings, consisting of Valerie Rathmann (cello, vocals) and English-born Rupert Gillett (guitar, vocals) explore love songs from the last 100 years. Two perfectly harmonizing voices, the soulful tone of a cello and the warmth of an acoustic guitar offer an emotional and touching soundscape for the love songs presented. Between the songs, the duo gives insights into the songwriters and the stories behind the songs through witty anecdote and analysis.
